Joshua Homateni
Production Manager
I am Joshua Homateni, and my journey with OYO began as a production assistant, fueled by my passion for creating art that raises awareness about HIV/AIDS. In 2008, I joined the Omaruru youth group, where I was discovered by OYO's director and was invited to participate in 'The Namibian Odysseus' dance project, a transformative experience that shaped my journey. During my time with the dance troupe, I had the opportunity to travel to the UK and Germany, broadening my perspective on Arts and cultural exchanges. Subsequently, I became an integral part of the OYO's production team, driven by my dedication to creating impactful Art that addresses societal issues like HIV/AIDS.
My decision to work with OYO was fueled by my unwavering passion for using art as a tool to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, which aligns perfectly with OYO's mission of social impact through creativity. I am dedicated to supporting OYO in mitigating the effects of HIV/AIDS and other social challenges among young individuals through targeted awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, and community engagement programmers. As the Production Manager, I meticulously coordinate OYO tours, mentor youth development assistants, and empower youth groups in diverse locations nationwide to impact the lives of numerous young individuals positively. Additionally, I play a pivotal role in visually capturing and documenting all of OYO's activities to effectively report on our progress and achievements, ensuring our impact is well documented and celebrated.
