My name is Joshua Homateni, and I started as a Production Assistant for OYO. I was a member of the Omaruru youth group in 2008 when the OYO’s director spotted me and invited me to be part of ‘The Namibian Odysseus‘ dance project. With the dance troupe, I visited the UK and Germany. I then joined OYO’s production team.
I accepted to work for OYO because I am into arts – creating arts about HIV/AIDS to create awareness; and I want to help OYO to decrease the impact of HIV/AIDS among young people. When it comes to creating arts, I am the man of the moment to teach arts. I was recently promoted as Project Coordinator: Productions and I’m proud of this opportunity. I make sure that OYO DVDs are screened all over the country. I also make sure that OYO tours and productions run smoothly, reaching lots of young people and making a difference in their lives.
