OFF TO A GOOD START
After a difficult year, OYO is proud to announce it is back on track. It is starting the year with various projects:
• Thanks to board members of’ the Horizon Trust, it is returning to schools in Windhoek, to follow up on cases it has seen in 2025,
• Thanks to Horizon Trust, it is continuing its project ‘Growing Strong in the ||Kharas region’, working with local youth groups and touring the dance troupe,
• Thanks to the Embassy of Finland, it is starting the project ‘Hear me’ – a project aiming at creating tools with teenagers living with various disabilities – including the first Namibian dance piece featuring both able and disable performers,
• Thanks the new partner Interteam, it is starting the project ‘building life opportunities for girls’ – a project to address teenage pregnancy in the Kavango East and Kavango West regions,
• Thanks to a philanthropic partner from the Netherlands, it is starting the project ‘stay in school’ in Gobabis, a project to encourage children to remain in school and develop a program with out-of-school young people,
• Thanks to Goethe Institute South Africa, it is starting a project to promote cultural heritage in Namibia and create new narratives around rock arts.
Various other proposals are awaiting answers – but OYO is proud of the fact it is returning to schools, it will work in the Khomas, ||Kharas, Kavango West, Kavango West and Omaheke regions and will contribute to make a difference in the lives of many young people. A huge thanks to all our partners past, present and future for believing in our approach: together, we can indeed make a difference.
