WE NEED YOUR HELP
The beginning of the year is always quite hectic for OYO - as most grants end in December and we usually don’t hear about new grants till March/ April. This year, we started with three grants - 2 signed and 1 to be signed 31st January.
While we don’t receive direct funding from USAID, two of the foundations/ Institutions we work with do receive funding from USAID. It makes us sub-sub recipients. And I’m sure you see where I’m heading to: with President Trump’s decision to freeze all USAID projects, overnight those grants came to a standstill… With no warning to find how to pay salaries or overheads, it is putting us in a lot of trouble… We lost 60% of the budget we had for the first quarter… As a result, we go from board meeting to board meeting, trying to make plans… But as you can imagine, it is not easy.
As a result, the OYO board and management are reaching out to all the friends of OYO to help us get through this difficult time. While we don’t often ask for donations, this time around we need your support:
- Internationally you can donate through the following link: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/using-arts-educate-4000-namibian-teenagers-on-hiv - It is safe and in some countries you can deduct the donation from your taxes.
- Locally you can donate by EFT: Nedbank, Maerua Mall (461-041), Acc. Ombetja Yehinga Organisation, 11010028614 or via PayToday: @OYO Trust
Your generosity will go a long way. Together, we know we can make a difference.
