Every campaign dealing with HIV and AIDS or domestic violence aims, among other things, to promote self-esteem. It is often said that people with high self-esteem are less likely to get infected with HIV than people with low self-esteem.

For many years now, people from the government, non-governmental organisations and social projects have talked to you about the "ABC" - Abstain, Be faithful (to a faithful partner) or Condomise. Yet even though everybody in Namibia knows what the ABC stands for, we don't seem to be making much progress.

Over the past years we have talked with learners and youths about HIV prevention, domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse. We have, I believe, made some progress. However there is one issue which just keeps on coming back: how can we better talk to our parents?

Death is a topic that scares people all over the world. Some people think that if they talk about it they will attract death. Others think one should not mention it, especially to children.
