OYO’s varied research aims to identify sexual attitudes and practices in target communities to inform policy and practice on HIV and AIDS prevention. It has been a major asset for OYO, bringing the organisation a degree of international academic recognition.
To date, we have conducted research with the Ovahimba and Ovaherero communities in the northwest as well as with the San in the Tsumkwe area. More recently we started a project in Rehoboth – the centre of Namibia’s Baster community.
