It’s this time of the year again when the OYO youth groups get ready for the forthcoming OYO youth festival. This year, representatives from Opuwo, Khorixas, Uis and Arandis will meet in Ongwediva to share experiences, learn from one another and prepare a combined performance.
All groups have been visited by the production team in August and have started rehearsing for the show. They have learnt:
- The drama originally created by the Arandis youth group, that will serve as a basis for the show.
- Four dances: ‘all for one’, created by Lucie Carmen Gregoire from Canada, ‘Single ladies’, created by Sisi and ‘one moment in time’ and ‘money money’ created by Philippe Talavera
- Six songs: ‘Imagine’, created by the Otjimbingwe youth group, ‘peer pressure’ created by the Uis youth group, ‘condom’ created by the Khorixas youth group, ‘last night’ created by the Opuwo youth group and ‘what were you thinking’ and ‘break the chain’ created by the Arandis youth group.
On 09 September all the groups will meet in Ongwediva. They will have three days to share the material and prepare a combined performance. So don’t miss on this event! Watch out your diary and make sure you meet the groups!
